Get answers to common questions about our admissions process, programs, and services.

What ages do you serve?

In general, Heartland Academy serves young adults ages 18-35 with special needs who may have completed high school (not required). However, we realize that every individual is unique. We will work with you to accommodate your client even if he or she doesn't meet the age requirement.

What is the client-to-staff ratio?

We maintain small cohorts with a maximum ratio of 5:1 to ensure personalized attention and support for each client.

What are your program hours?

Our program runs Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. We also offer extended day options and weekend social activities at an additional cost.

Do you provide transportation?

Families are responsible for pick up and drop off at our location. Many clients use public transportation as part of their independence training, and we provide support in learning these skills.

What funding options are available?

We accept private pay, Medicaid waivers, and work with families to explore other funding sources. Contact us to discuss your specific situation.

How long do clients typically stay in the program?

Program length varies based on individual goals and needs.
